Contests and Awards

Besides the great vacation packages offered to win, we also have many contests during the festival. We have given away diamond rings, fur coats, plaques for many contests and every year we give away an automobile! In the past such classics as a 49 Mercury, 64 VW Bug, an S-10, a Sunbird, 2 Corvettes among others have been won. Plaques for the Best Campsite, Best Jam Sessions, Best Dancers, Oldest Person, Furthest Traveled, are among some of the prizes given each year during the great Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival!

1st Prize: 1 Fun Filled Week High on a Mountain

Seven days and nights at the highest point in Rowan County (and 2 others!) in the Poppy Mountain Hideaway cabin at the peak of Poppy Mountain, overlooking the Bluegrass festival, Morehead, and Olive Hill, Ky., will be awarded to a lucky winner in August, just a month before the big Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival.

A nice 2 bedroom cabin with furnished kitchen facilities, shower and bath, plus the living room home entertainment luxurys of the TV/VCR, stereo/CD, and even a CB radio to enjoy for your week at the festival is the first prize at this years Poppy Mountain Festival. This is a wonderful place to take in the festival or just sit on the porch and look out over the many miles of beauty surrounding Poppy Mountain. This IS NOT the USS Poppy Mountain. It's not even close. But you'll feel just as special as if you were on this baby!
A week aboard the USS Poppy Mountain is the second prize being offered at the Poppy Mountain presents the Third Tyme Out Bluegrass Festival. 7 days and nights on the USS Poppy Mountain docked at the "Port of Jammin Ridge"! The USS Poppy Mountain is a converted houseboat equipped with all the necessities of home such as air conditioning, kitchen facilities, bath facilities, 2 beds and a TV/VCR system.

At the heart of the Poppy Mountain party, you are sure to enjoy your stay a lot more when aboard the USS Poppy Mountain for a week on Jammin Ridge Lake II. Also included In the package are 4, week long Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival passes.
