- For those of us not from Kentucky we are on the outside looking in. Where I live in Ohio, I am not blessed with the idea of knowing I have the best bluegrass festival in the nation in my backyard. Ohio does host some great bluegrass festivals, but I have yet to see a bluegrass festival as huge as Poppy Mountain. I think we all forget sometimes how nice it is to have something nice at our fingertips until we don't have it anymore. I would have to say that the management at Poppy Mountain is doing one hell of a job in bringing quality bands to the stage. Just remember that what one band does for one person they don't do for another. I can honestly say the line-up is stacked with not just household names in bluegrass but also the best up and coming acts in bluegrass as well. TO anyone who has never experienced Poppy Mountain, you are in for real treat in 2004! See ya on the opeing nite
- Lee, Are you being paid to play at Poppy Mtn.?
- Steve, You really should fill out the "Name" section of the form when you create an entry!
And I do understand you have issues with Poppy Mountain, but leave people alone and don't post rude remarks when someone has something good to say about Poppy. Please and thank you!
- listen chris i sign ever thread i put on this web site.. i said in an earlier thread that i was never going to message again, but you forced me too. this will be my last one i can promise you that. i ahve never downed the festival (just the management). so chris you need to leave me alone. i do agree with you though.. people should fill in there name. i am much more than a man than that. i would never say anything bad about someone unless i new for a fact the truth, and once again another smart alleck remark from you.. to the person that wrote this message, (and i have said this before) couldn't ask for a better place to have a festival. just lacking in tallent.. see ya chris and pleas don't write something about people that you know nothing about ok. steve
- Steve, why yes they are paying us to perform on the main stage. My band also played the showcase a few years ago for free. I personally don't any of the management at Poppy Mountain, but as big as Poppy Mountain Festival is they must be doing something right. I personally invite you to attend our set and if you aren't satisfied with what you hear from The Just Bluegrass Band I will give you half your ticket money back myself. If you are in a band that is trying to break out onto the top of the regional circuit than you know what it takes to get bookings like the ones at Poppy Mountain. I put alot of work into promoting my band as professional as possible. I also have looked at the line-up and it looks pretty impressive to me. ya really should put whatever bad blood you have with someone behind ya and start making plans to make Poppy Mountain a good time for yourself. How can 10,000 screaming bluegrass lovers be wrong?? KEEP PICKIN!!
